In the mid 90's I was a new graduate from RMIT with a BA in Textile Design. I loved knitting and design and was determined to forge a career using these skills. I started out working as knitwear designer for Cleckheaton Knitting yarns, then returned to RMIT for a stint teaching knit to fashion and textile students.

Next I chose to follow my heart and new partner to his family farm in the Australian Riverina. An iconic wool growing region, I was immediately inspired to harness the energy and create my own design label woolliwoolli.....the adventure began.

Over the past 20 years woolliwoolli has taken me to fashion weeks and shows all over the world, I have retailed my products through out Australia, I have taught children to knit and worked with older knitters. My products have changed and evolved but a few things have remained the same.

I still love knitting, wool and design.

I am committed to slow fashion and the preservation of ancient crafts. Every piece is made in my home studio, either on my vintage knit machine or by hand with a needle or hook.

woolliwoolli is a creative dream I have refused to give up on and continues to stimulate and excite me.

My needles are still clicking......Jo Nathan.
